about

My views, vision and values within the design industry begin with an interest in illustration and its application through photography and typography. Placing images and words on blank pages like the continuing process of tidying up and then making a mess - this optimism for the future.

David Berman’s philosophy ‘Don’t just do good design. Do good’ is reflected in my design practice, as I recently travelled to Laos, experiencing their culture and working as a socially responsible graphic designer. Working within different cultures such as Laos has allowed me to grow, to explore and to appreciate design.

My University design education reflects Bruce Mau‘s statement in his ‘Incomplete Manifesto’ that ‘process is more important than outcome.’ Critically analyzing and reflecting on my work has allowed me to focus on the process of design and the way mistakes can be corrected and challenges overcome through working collaboratively.

Also completing a degree in journalism has allowed me to immerse myself in art and design work from the perspective of a listener and documenter – always following stories and profiles based around the creative industries. As an editorial intern with Indesign Group, I witnessed and contributed in the exchanges and processes between writing and design - to communicate with those who live with design and those that design for living.
